I Do, Part Deux
Our Wedding Flowers

Our beautiful flowers were from The Bride’s Bouquet, and all photos were taken by Maria Felton Photography.

Our Wedding Cakes

Our wedding cakes were perfect! We did the traditional tiered wedding cake which was vanilla cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting, and the groom’s cake was chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. Yum.

I thrifted both of the cake stands, and Publix made our cakes. I got the idea for decorating the wedding cake from a wedding magazine. They combed the frosting to give it that look and I bought the birds at an art supply store. Our florist provided the flowers.

Candy Table

This was one of my favorite things to put together for our wedding. I knew our daughters and the other children who attended who love it, but it was also fun to see the adults fill their goody bags, too. My mom and I bought vintage glass containers at thrift shops over a span of a year, nothing cost more than three dollars. We bought heart shaped candy around Valentine’s Day, and put it in the freezer. We also wen to the local Mexican Super Market for some authentic mexican treats for our wedding fiesta themed reception. The candy table was fun and fairly inexpensive to put together. I am glad we included it in our wedding celebration.

Thanks for following this blog as I planned my October 2011 wedding. I’ve posted some of my wedding photos on my main blog if you’d like to see them. I will eventually be back here with more detailed oriented posts, starting with our candy table.
* We used the photo above for our wedding thank yous.

The Knot

I attended a very swanky mixer last night hosted by The Knot. The Knot is an excellent resource for any bride, and I encourage you to visit their site for all your planning needs. I had a wedding website set up with photos and additional information for my wedding guests, and I set the entire website up for free through The Knot.

Polaroid Guest Book

I am so happy with the way our polaroid guest book turned out. I found the camera at a thrift store for two bucks, and I bought the film from The Impossible Project. Unfortunately, the company I bought the guest book from went out of business when Polaroid stopped making film for their vintage cameras.

My dried wedding bouquet.
Our wedding was AMAZING! The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and the celebration with friends and family was joyful. I hope to still post to this blog when I come across something I like that is wedding related, and I will post our professional wedding photos here soon, too.

I am very tempted to order one of these beautiful felt bouquets to use at our rehearsal.
